Hey, I am currently busy building Hasegawa's 1:48 F6F-5 Hellcat, I am converting it to a Fleet Air Arm Hellcat Mk.II.
What I would like to know is what changes were made to FAA 'cats?
I am going to add after-market Sutton Harnesses to it, is this correct for FAA aircraft or did the FAA have different harnesses?
Should the joystick be similar to that of Spitfires & Hurricanes with that "figure 8" grip?
Did the FAA use the same rockets as the USN's Hellcats?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Erik

I don't know about changes, but it looks like both US and UK style rockets could be accurate:

The first a/c clearly has US zero-length rails, while the second has British rocket rails fitted.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I had given up on this forum. I am going to use zero length rocket rails/launchers.
