Hello all,

I normally build armour. However, I also dabble in WW2 aircraft.

I'm planning on building a 1/48th Hurricane I, and I have a couple of questions.

First, is there an after market decal set for Douglas Bader's 242 Squadron Hurricane? That's what I want to model.

Second, what company makes a decent Hurricane I in this scale, and which should I avoid. I'm looking for a kit that builds well, and doesn't require a lot of sanding or putty work.

Cheers,

Dan.

The answers:

Xtradecal X48144 has Bader's markings.

The kit you want is Airfix's recent Hurricane Mk.I. I consider it the best on the market at this time, and in fact the best in the scale period. And it's cheap! I think all boxings, including the Sea Hurricane, have the same parts, so I think you're safe with any of them. Though you may want to check online reviews just to be sure.

Yes, if you take Airfix, you can't go wrong. Have built it a few years ago and it was a fun build.
