As a follow-on to the thread about new campaigns. I'd like to propose a campaign around Malta in WW2. Combatants on either side involved in the Siege of Malta, June '40 to November '42.

Entries can be any scale, any type (air, naval, land), nothing that is already 25% or more complete will be allowed.

Tentative start 1 Oct 20
Duration 12 mos
Corresponding end 30 Sep 21.

I'll post links on armorama and shipwrights.

Count me in!
I did start a Battle of Malta themed build of my own earlier in the year but got stalled. Would be a great opportunity for me to pick it back up again.
Thinking I might do one of those cool Italian tri-motors.

Neat. Thanks for joining folks.

Shall we make it 12 mos (in case a ship modeller wants to build one of the carriers)? Starting oct 1?

Y'know, I might just be up for this one. With a little surprise not on Stephan's list (if it's allowed, as it would be stretching the definition just a bit).

Interesting. I'm sure I missed quite a few types.
Think this will be a good campaign.

Howdy Y'all
Well if it's going to be a whole year, I might actually finish a campaign model. Yes, I'm in. I think I'll be building Tamiya's Matilda. I started it a few years ago, now I'll just have to figure out where I put it in the stash. Sounds like fun.
Take care and stay safe,

We just need one more!

One of the things that inspired me about Malta was the account of Operation Pedestal on the Armoured Carriers website:

Okay, I'll be number 10. I'm starting to fill up 2021 already... Probably one of the 'Malta Camouflaged" vehicles - Universal Carrier or Matilda- or I might even do a A13

Thanks everyone. I've submitted a proposal. We'll need a ribbon if anyone is up for that.

Enlisted!

Thinking of one of the Italian bombers. Have the SM.79, BR.20 and CANT Z.1007bis.

I like all of those. Is there a way of adding the George Cross to the design? Feel it would be great way to honour the civilian populations hardships and bravery during the campaign.

I like #1 as well, I think it covers the whole Island.

I'm terrible at keeping secrets. So here's what I'm thinking of using for the campaign (if Phil thinks it fits the campaign theme):

Seeing the F4F on the list made me think of this.

I like the subject Michael, but did Wasp carry those in her runs to Malta? I think the carriers typically offloaded everything but their fighters and the planes they were ferrying to Malta. If I'm wrong about that, I'd be happy to see that kit built!

Ah, nuts. You're right. Well, I do have a Hasegawa 1/48 Sea Hurricane Mk.I and I know that's appropriate, so maybe that.
