This is really cool.

I'm a pilot and I am actually from the town of Ozark, Missouri, although I was born in 1986 just as the airline was winding down. I began flying out of KSGF Springfield Mo where the DC-9 routes to KSTL Lambert were sold to TWA and Trans World Express. The 90's was a great time for aviation in Missouri.

The name comes from the French, when they had claim to this region of the U.S. This was from the 17th Century until the Louisiana Purchase. The name in Missouri French roughly translates to "Ox Arcs" referring to the shape of our rivers and creeks to that of Ox bows, meandering curves with deep eddies.

Springfield and Ozark are great towns and Ozark was a great airline, the owner did a lot for our area that's evident to this day.
