A few pics of Tamiya 1/48 spitfire 1a. Does anyone know what colour the firing button should be on the control stick? I'm thinking red or yellow?

Judging by the one colour photo I've found (of a museum example) it looks like a dark yellow, or it could be dull unpolished brass.

I have some pics but all of them are black and white, and you can't quite see the color of it, sorry.

Makes me feel like I want to sit in it.

After much musing Geoff's museum pic, I am leaning towards it being dull brass. But if this planes been sat in a museum for a while the button will not have been pressed, if its brass it would take on that dull look. In normal use it would be more polished from the pilots gloved thumb.
But it could be yellow and is dull for the same reasons.
????

I've got a fair selection of colour photos of WWII cockpits - admittedly all museum examples (and too obviously copyright to risk getting the site into trouble by posting ).

There does seem to have been a little variation; most RAF gunbuttons are brass, in a brass surround. A pic of the Hendon Typhoon shows a dull siver button in a brass surround, while the BoB Memorial Flight Spitfire MkII has a brass button in a black surround!

Hope this helps and oops! almost forgot... tasty looking office! I particularrly like the Sutton harness!
