Hi veryone:

Can somebody tell me what are the colours of the early scheme for a Corsair F4U1 (Solomon Islands) using Model Master Enamels ?

Thanks.

Hi csch
I am now building this type of Corsair F4U-1D and I am using MM #'s 4226 Sea Blue (AN623), #4744 Intermediate Blue (NK), and #1768 Flat White. This is from darkest to lightest. For VMF-17.
Good Luck

Thanks for your answer Tek2, but the scheme you´re talking about is not the one used by the early birdcage Corsairs (F4U1) used in the Solomon Islands.

Thanks again.

:-) The colours I used on my Pacific Birdcage Corsair F4U-1 Article here Were FS*5237 Dark Blue Grey over FS*6440 Light Gull Grey. I used Xtracolor paints, sorry I don't know the Model Master equivelant.

use a dark navy blue on top and on the undercarriage use a light sea blue or white whatever you desire>

Thank you all for the help.

Holdfast & Merlin: using your info I guess that the MM 1721 (Medium Grey) or Hombrol 145 are equivalent to X 126 (Dark Blue Grey). I will test both of them.
For the undersides I will use MM 1732 (Light Grey), it´s not a perfect match but I have two bottles of it, and with some weathering I think it will work ok.
Muchas Gracias.
