Hi everyone,

I was gifted this kit and detail set but I have next to no information on any 109s that would have used the underwing rockets. Could someone point me in the direction of some aircraft profiles that would have used these rockets? I don't want to put the rockets on an aircraft that wouldn't have used them.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Mark! A good start could be googling the phrase "bf 109 wgr 21". Regarding some general advice, I have seldom seen this combo with a "late model" G-6 (Erla-canopy and tall rudder) and the rocket pods, when I look at the rocket pods I see for my inner eye an ordinary lumbering G-6 with heavy-framed canopy and old-style rudder !

That won't be an issue. This kit comes with both short and tall tail, early and late canopy, short and long tail wheel, and even the parts to make a G 14. The gun bulges are a little small and would be better replaced by a aftermarket piece. They are pretty cheap. It really a pretty nice kit though. I just finished one last week.

I would start looking at bf 109s of JG 1, JG 11 and JG 3 or other defense of the reich units in the 43-44 time frame. JG 3 had some attractive schemes featuring a large shooting star motif on the foward fuselage cowling area with examples carrying the WGr 21 rockets.
