Can someone more informed than I with the Spitfire help me out? I am wanting to know if the Mk.IXc had antenna wires, and if so how were they strung? I have seen artist drawings and profiles showing some with and some without, but haven't come across a definitive Mk.IX photograph yet to make it clear there were wires. I don't own any references on Spitfires so my only resource has been the net.

My Eduard Mk.IXc is complete minus some staining and the wires, if they are needed. I appreciate any knowledge you can lend so I can finish her up.

By the time the Mk IX was in production, the VHF radio antenna had been reduced in size enough that it could be entirely housed within the wooden "antenna" behind the cockpit which had previously anchored its run from the top of the fin and rudder Any profile you see showing an external antenna wire is incorrect. Most Mk IXs did not have the IFF wires leading from the tailplane tips to the fuselage either.
