Hi to all,
I recently managed to finish my Arado 196. It was built completely OOB. Painting was done with Gunze and Tamiya acrylics, small details painted with Vallejo. This time no weathering, final coat with a mixture of Vallejo Satin varnish and Pledge. Don't forget to put a lot of weights in the pontons.

greetings ro

Robert,

Wow! You built a superb model! I am not a fan of preshading yet it looks great the way you did it.

I really do love these kits, they seem to look great regardless of how they are finished. I really like how well yours turned out without all of the chipping and weathering we often see applied to them. The colors are strong and the preshading compliments them very well

Robert, just a fantastic OOB build. Your pre-shading really works well with the strong colors to achieve a sense of weathering.

Hi guys,
thanks a lot for all your comments, I really appreciate it. As some of you mentioned the preshading, I always start painting with a base color, then I use the base lightened up in several thin layers and try to do each panel. With classic preshading I had different results, sometimes it was completely gone ...
Thanks for looking.

A beautiful build I've been so tempted to buy this kit, now it's all but irresistible if this is what comes OOB Really class finish.

Very nice work Robert! You are inspiring me to take my 196 out of my coveted stash and build it. Your offering is most excellent. Thank you for sharing. Take care. Jim
