I have two or three good Fleet Air Arm references all of which say that the first British air to air kill of WWII was accomplished by Skuas of 803 NAS from Ark Royal on 26 Sept., 1939 flown by Lts. B.S. McEwen and Charles Evans. None of them, however, identify the specific aircraft or show what they would have looked like. Can anyone here help with that?

I know early war FAA colors and markings are tricky, but I figured I'd ask here and see if any of you might know. Thanks!

Michael
