Tweeners or the Golden Age as it has been termed need representation. To be fair and provide opportunity to all the wingnuts so afflicted I have been pondering an Air Campaign concerning anything between 1919 - 1934. Please post comments or concerns here.

Sounds like a good idea!
A nice "open" build. Any particular reason why its 1934? May I suggest 1919-1938.

Greetings Nigel!

Since the Early Aviation era cuts off here at 1934 I was just staying with in those boundaries. WWII begins at the 1935 mark for the titles here. We don't have to keep it at this, with the brush wars leading right into WWII we could be flexible.

Sounds good. 'Tweeners are definitely neglected everywhere, so having anything devoted to that time-frame is good.

Maybe I can finish my LF 1/72nd Curtiss P-1C...

I would be in for this one as well. However, I would also suggest like Nigel to put the upper time limit of the campaign to 1938. That would allow for some very nice Spanish civil war aircraft.

Would it be possible for someone to list some of the planes from that time period. I am not really familiar with that time frame but might have one in my stash. I realize that it would mostly be biplanes?? Maybe some early variants of the 109? Anyway--I hate to sound ignorant but I always seem to have the years 1939-1945 stuck in my head and rarely drift out of those years when building. Thanks in advance for the info. (it doesnt have to be a huge list--maybe just some of the more popular ones from that time frame.)

On Wings palette, there is a special section for aircraft between WWI and WWII. Quite a few of them, actually! Look around and hopefully you'll find some inspiration.

Ok we have some mild interest . We need some firm commitments. I am willing to go from 1919 - 1938. Now this will include prototypes and production machines.

1. No pulp novel fantasy birds.
2. If its real and was more than a hypothetical or more than just a set of schematics we'll go for it. From Lithuania to China, from the Kongo to Alaska, bipes, monoplanes, all metal, fabric wings, radials, to inlines, military, or civilian, from transports to mail carriers, from fighters to airliners.
3. All scales and as many as you can build.
4. BUT!!!! You have to produce an original photo image of your real bird.
5. If I get a minimum of seven hardcore commitments saying "I am in." the "Golden Age of Tweeners" is going ahead.

I propose it runs from November 1, 2007 to April 30, 2008. We will go for a ribbon or a set of wings of course.

B) Show a picture of a Bf 109 in Spanich civil war markings
C) Show a picture of a Bf 109 B in Spanish civil war markings
D) Show a picture of the Bf 109 B in Spanish civil war markings with number 39 O 7.

Clarification on this might be relevant as it affect the choice of aircraft...

Like the idea, but, not sure about 1938 cut off, I think that 1934 was a better date, the whole idea is to highlight tween the war a/c not early WWII a/c.
