Steffen's Emil is basically Eduard's Royal Class minus the extra photo-etched parts. The tailwheel is the Brassin version, but the mainwheels are plastic. Steffen used pix from Luftwaffe im Focus 19 as a colour reference for the more orange cowl and fuselage band, standing out clearly against the Romanian national markings.

Looks great Steffen! Glad to see more stuff from you. What brand/shade of green did you use? Is the overcoat a flat or semi-gloss? (hard to tell from the pictures)? Thanks- Tom Dungan Wisconsin, USA

Hi Tom, many thanks for your kind comment! The colour is RLM 71; paint is from Gunze. The model has a flat overcoat, but photography has some side effects some times. The flat coat is Gunze with Mr. Thinner (for Enamels), thus the flat coat is smother than just from the bottle amd shots with a longer exposure time have some "artificial" shiny effects. I build my models to look good to my eye and not for the camera ... sorry, but that's "my way" of modelling all the best Steffen

Hi Steffen. I'm sure you already knew this but I believe your kit's namesake is represented on page 22 of Squadron Signal Publication, Walk Around Number 34, Messerschmitt Bf109. As I said before, very nice kit and accurate presentation. Take care my friend. Jim.

Bf 109E-3 Wr 2486 "Hai Fetito" ("C'mon little girl"). Lt Av. Ioan Di Cesare, Escadrila 57, Grupul 7 Vanatoare, Karpovka-Stalingrad, Nov 1942.. Standard paint scheme for Gr.57Vt, RLM 71 over RLM 65. Theatre markings RML 04. Spinner 2/3 black 1/3 white. Donald Duck emblem belongs to Gr.7Vt. Five white stripes denote ground victories from first campaign (Barbarossa). Two white stripes on tail for aerial victories. Monogram DIC under cockpit. Fetita (Little Girl) was a filly (racehorse) and Di Cesare was horse racing fan. Lost in November 1942 in Karpovka during retreat from Soviet offensive.
