The Roden kit’s quality is only average, a lot of work needed.

I used Part Albatros D.III etched details, as well as many scratchbuilt parts. I had to rescribe the whole surface, because the panel lines are different from the German built version. I also made rivet lines, with a SBS/Z63 Riveter tool.

Kit is painted with Gunze, and Misterkit colours. The wood pattern is painted with oil paints using a sponge.

Absouletly beautiful One of my favourite planes of the great war, and very very well done in 1:72. If you'd said it was 1:32 I would have belived it!!! Impressed Regards Mikael

Honestly Peter you have demonstrated all the dexterity of a miniturist painter,it's hard to believe its 1/72.As apainter my self i feel qualified to say.Great stuff.

Peter, Great work. Did you use thinned acrylics, oils, or pastels to achieve the soiled and weathered clear doped linen? Please describe your technique. Thank you.

The struct use masking tape. I use strong thinned gunze hobby color. The color is my dust colors. Ligth-yellow, and yellow-grayish. All painting make with free-hand, with airbrush. I not use special technique. (Sorry, my english not good.)
