The RS kit is not easy compared to the Hasegawa model, but it does offer one of the most beautiful « Hien ». I have used the Brengun photoetch set plus a Falcon canopy as the kit’s one is rather poor.

The whole model was riveted and it depicts a plane of the 56th Sentai, the only unit known to have used this model operationally. The undsersides are natural aluminium and the upper surfaces paintes in Gunze H-304 to simulate the late war color yellow green#7. H-81 Kaki and oils paints were used for weathering, the peeled paint was gained with the hairspray technique.

Fantastic Hien as usual from you, Jean! There are quite some debates about this late war paint and I've also tried a few different tones. Lately I read that it would come close to RAL 6014 Yellow Olive, which is rather funny, because that's the colour the german Bundeswehr used on their vehicles until the early 1980's .... My next kit on the bench will also be a Hien, from the 244. Sentai, but the one from Hasegawa and I will give that colour a try. Torsten
