Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1a

This photostory is the culmination of a long project to detail the build of my Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1a by Tamiya.

It's finished with Aeromaster paints and decals as DW-O of 610 (County of Chester) Squadron during the Battle for Britain in June of 1940.  It's weathered using artist oil paints.  Additions to the basic kit include scratch built seatbelts using etched buckles and wine bottle foil, wheel down indicators from red painted wire and antenna and IFF wires from smoke coloured invisible thread.
