Some notes about the model
This is the Hasegawa 1:48 scale P-40M kit modified to represent a P-40 N-1. Ultracast wheels, seat and exhaust were used, as well as an Eagle Strike decal sheet. The aircraft Steffen chose to do was flown by Samuel E.Hammer of the 89th Fighter Squadron, a 5 kill Ace. The typical Burma Banshee Death Head was modified to match the photos of the real aircraft.

The model was photographed by Marc Toillié on a PSP diorama base, during a nice summer photo session in his garden.

The original build thread can be found by following this link: P-40 N-1 "Burma Banshee"

Here is a link to the website where Steffen found some usefull references for his build: www.burmabanshees.com

Beside the mentioned Plasticart kits ...

I have a 1/48 Eduard Profipack kit of a P-40N with death's head (Its the old Mauve kit with some extras). The box art shows the plane with its teardrop drop tank on backwards. Is this because the tank was used as a napalm bomb and installing it backwards helped it to separate from the aircraft when dropped Regards Len
