My model is old Tamiya Sd. Kfz 222 1/35 kit which was recently re-released with addition of Photo etched mesh for turret and aluminium barrel. The kit was built out of the box. The only additions where jerrican racks and the Nazi flag of course. For the jerrican racks I used aluminium foil straps cut from tea lights and glued with CA. the flag is made from tissue lightly soaked with diluted white glue and painted with acrylic paints. To get even circle I used cap from 2 litres Soda's bottle to mask off, what supposed to stay white. Swastika was first drawn with pencil and then with black/grey acrylic paint. To correct any flaws I made during painting Swastika white area was painted with Off-white paint. To make a more natural appearance on the vehicle, the flag was again lightly soaked with white glue, at the same time ropes (sewing thread) were attached to flag. When the flag had dried, it received some weathering. the model was painted with Model Master Panzer grey acrylics and weathered with Mig's and Mirage Hobby's pigments. The model represents a vehicle from the 24th Panzer Div. in Southern Russia in August 1942. I hope to show a dusted vehicle during one of long recon missions. The figure comes from Dragon's Sturmartillere Crew and was painted with Vallejo paints.
