This plane is one of the A4s which the French Armée de l'Air didn't had the time to use operationally and which was seized by the Germans. Reconditioned by the latter, fitted with a Revi 12 gunsight, Luftwaffe harnesses and using 87° index octane fuel, they were sold to Finland at the same time as the seized Norwegian Hawks which came from the same production line. This is the 1/32 scale Special Hobby kit which represents an aircraft used by the 1/LeLv 12 and which carried a nonofficial portrait of uncle Joseph on the fuselage. The model doesn't fall together by itself, but it can be build into a very satisfactory representation of the Cyclone engined fighter of Curtiss.

Hi Jean very nice model!! Photography is also very good I esp. like this Do you use some kind of reflector? Hope a good model of this subject will appear in 1/48 one day ... there are some nice French markings too... all the best Steffen

hello Jean many thanks for the answer. I though because of the good lighting below the wing. In that light conditions I often get very, very dark shadows. BTW something with your profile seems to be wrong. Well, at least for my browser. The banner cannot be such a large picture. While it is nice to see you in person, this could also be posted in your workbench or gallery. Maybe one of the staff members (J-L??) can help you fixing that (or inform me that the error is on my end) . Thank you! keep up your great work and post pictures all the best Steffen

Jean, How did I miss this model? It is excellent and I would like it even if it were not two of my favorite subjects: Curtiss Hawks and the Ilmavoimat!

Jean, Oh my!! The one word phrase: "Outstanding", just doesn't do your build justice. Justice is looking at the 1st few pictures, and thinking that this is the real deal. The build looks flawless, but the painting and weathering is just spectacular. Dead on. Joel
