Great review Mal on what must rank as one of the top Spitfire kits ever.
Im SO glad I took the plunge and bagged one for myself!,and its mine,,,all mine,,,wooohaahaa,,,,,oops!
The detail is just stunning, and its certainly worth following the link to Eduard website and checking out the build photos on there.
Also a good opportunity for you to build a few more rockets after your article Mal Did the Eduard builder forget the arming cables?
Did anyone decide if theres going to be a Group Build for this?

I will not be hanging any rockets on my Spitfire, what sacrilage Really I just love the lines of the F Mk 22/24 Spitfire, as I do all Spitfires Eduard have certainly put together an excellent package.
Nige, you are going to need two of these kits, whichever Mk you build you will want to build the other, at some time You know what they say:
"you just can't have too many Spitfires".


I'm not entirely sure, I think a Spitfire build might be happening next year?
However I am going to be starting an "on line" build of mine soon. I will do it via the forum, similar to the Fokker D.VII build, but I have to get hold of some Interior green paint first. I'm also in the process of changing my car, so this week end and possibly next week end are booked for things other than modelling.

It might be just a coincidence,but Hannants are showing the Squadron vacform canopy for the MK22/24 as out of stock.They had some last week.Looks like theyve sold out as quick as the kit

Thanks for the review Mal, especially the tips on correcting the few inaccuracies that exist. None of which are deal breakers for me.

Very glad I snagged one of the last kits Spruebrothers had, and like lampie, I can't resist opening the box and drooling over the contents. I'll have to bag the decals to prevent water spots.

Cool guys, mine is now permenantly open as I have started hacking resin. I will start the on line build as soon as I can take pics (Charging my camera battery as we speak), probably tomorrow. One thing that I can report on is that the resin is easy to work with as it is relatively soft and therefor not so brittle. I have managed to, slightly, damage the floor (you will see in the pics) but no major problem.
