Hi there A while back we started a UK Model Shop Directory over on A-UK. The idea is to build up a list with a description (and photos if you can) for each shop. So, if your favourite local shop isn't on the list, send me or BrandyDog the details and we'll add them. All the best Rowan |

Just a quick post to point out that the Model King shop of North Road ,Durham,Co Durham has closed.The sign in the window says for refurbishment but as large ammounts of stock was sold over e-bay and judging by the mail piling up in the window I don't think this is the case.Shame really as it carried a interesting variety of kits. |

That's a pity. I only bought a few things from there, but it was still an interesting little shop. |

please include; Transport models Preston http://www.transportmodels.co.uk/Wonderland models http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/ and although not quite a model shop ... The Works (discount bookshop) www.theworks.gb.com ... they sell artist materials and military reference books at cheap prices. I bought a set of 24 acrylic paints for £8. Also bought John Keegans book 'Atlas of the second world war' for £8 (jacket price was £25). |

Can you add the following www.modelsforsale.com I've had very good service from them with e-mail sent telling me when an order is ready as well as when its dispatched. They have a live web site if you cannot see it then its not in stock, you can only order whats in stock. Delivery 2 days, like I said very good service.

How about Waterlooville Model Centre in Waterlooville Hampshire (Used to be known as Pauls Models). Very packed shop including Games Workshop Stuff, Billings style boat models, Hornby stuff, Radio Control, Revell, Tamiya and Xtracolour/crylics paint. Plastic and Metal scratchbuild stuff. Lots of diorama/scenery supplies. AFVs, Sci Fi and airplanes and car kits. Die cast stuff. He doesn't carry everything but a lot of each, plus he does carry Eastern European Stuff such as Maquette and ICM. Well worth a look if you're passing and worth supporting if you want a local shop for local people to keep going. Paul will order stuff in if he has links with a supplier.

Hi Merlin, Here's a couple for you, down in the dim dark recesses of Kent: EM Models 51 Camden Rd, Tunbridge Wells, TN1 2QE Tel: 01892 536689 Reasonable size shop, reasonable range of kits (Armour and Aircraft) and ephemera. Good range of tools, fillers etc, though limited to Humbrol and Tamiya paints. Not much in the way of after-market (PE, Decals etc) but very helpful and friendly staff will get most stuff to order in a few days. Ballards 54, Grosvenor Rd, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 2AS Tel: 01892 531803 Small model shop with a mixed range, quite a few kits but very traditional - not much in the way of aftermarket stuff. And not a model shop, but invaluable for Airplane-heads(like me!) is the Aviation Bookshop. Quite simply the biggest Aviation bookstore going, fantastic for research, and they have a glass case which they kindly let me put my models in (and sometimes even flog them!) The Aviation Bookshop 33 Vale Rd Tunbridge Wells TN1 1BS Telephone: 01892 539284 Website: www.aviation-bookshop.com |

Hi,
If they are not on your list already please add;
www.netmerchants.co.uk.
I've used them since the summer and they are very reliable and fast. Although based in Larne in N Ireland I've had kits delivered in two days!!!
Also: www.historexagents.co.uk Only used them 3 times but very helpful and reasonably fast.

Great to see such a large UK contingent here. I'm Steve Hewitt and I run Eagle Models in North Yorkshire. We're aviation specialists in our second year and are building our catalogue all the time. Let us know if we can be of any service!

Hey guys,
I was in Croydon over the weekend - whatever happened to what used to be Modeltime in St. George's Walk ...didn't see Modelzone which I believe is in the Whitgift Centre ...but heading out of SE 25 after the Palace game (Eagles !) we drove past a great looking little shop in Norwood - Norwood Junction Models....anyone know it..
