After discussions with Paul, the campaign leader. this campaign is hereby extended until 1 April. But that's it, so step on it!

Michael

Many thanks for the extension, Michael!
I was just on my way to tell you, that I'm not gonna make it to the deadline of March 1st
So I still have the chance...

I call this done:

Rest of the photos are in gallery.

It could use bit more weathering, but I don't want to spend more time. Fun build, although I'm not fully satisfied with the paint job. Before the campaign I was bit worried how well the ICM's 25 would be, but it's a good kit, which is a relief because I have two other MiG-25 variants by ICM in stash.

Thanks for the campaign.

Well done, Pasi! And as Tim said, you made within the deadline. I have that old Revell-Monogram MiG 25 still somewhere in my stash ....

I'll still need a week or so until my MG-129 leaves the assembly line. I'm working on some stencils right now only for the missiles because most of them are unreadable as you can see here. Have checked other Eduard stencils from Profi Packs and Weekend Editions and I believe I've just got a wrong set of stencils which are "out of focus". Just blue, red and black lines ....

Thanks for the extension, Michael! Much appreciated. First time in over 10 years that I needed that ....

MiG-17PF from the terrible 1974 vintage KP Models. Engine intake, exhaust didn't fit even with extensive sanding the exhaust cracked the seam. Sheet styrene added to the wings to make them fit at the fillet, plastic was brittle, sun-bleached the yellow out of the decals. Relatively happy with the result considering everything.

Went with a well-worn look as most of the photos showed them not in such good shape.

First time with the airbrush in 26 years. Second model completed in 5 years. Still re-awakening my skills, but the eyes are old (readers for the in-close work), hands shake, wife still complains about the "little toys".

David,

Nice job on your MIG - I especially like the camouflage.

As for my little Eduard MIGs,
painting these birds couldn’t be simpler – Tamiya Bare Metal Silver AS-12 right out of the spray can!

Time for decals! I started with the nonslip walkways on the wings.

Eduard provided an amazing six marking options for aircraft from five different countries. And the decals are excellent quality too!

I chose a Chinese and a Soviet aircraft.

The markings look good, but I found the spartan Soviet set to be a bit plain, so I replaced them with the more colorful ones of a Czechoslovakian aircraft from 1953.

Nice decal choices on your MiGs, Tim!

I'm already beyond that point and have finished everything on MG-129, except the matt varnish, which will be done on Friday, I guess. Here's a quick look on the underside with the external fuel tank and 2 different air-to-air missiles on the weapon pylons ....

This beauty should leave my assembly line by Sunday, I hope.

Thanks Peter!

With the exception of red and green for the position lights I call this baby ready for take off ....
MiG 21bis MG-129, HävLLv 31, Finnish Air Force, Kuopio Airbase, 1981
Eduard 1/48

That are just some quick shots on my work bench. I will take better photos in the next days for the gallery and my little jet collection. Thanks for this nice campaign, which gave me the opportunity to build this long planned kit.

Good luck for all your builds!

@Tim - Excellent job on these little gems!

Thanks Peter!

With the addition of the landing gear, the tiny MiG-15s are complete:

The MiG-15 NO-37 was the mount of Lt. Jaroslav Sramek, 5th Fighter Regiment, Plzen-Line Air Base. On March 10, 1953, Lt. Sramek shot down a USAF F-84 Thunderjet that had intruded into Czech airspace.

The other MiG-15 is in the livery of the 29th Guards, Dachang Air Base, China. The Soviet 29th Guards Fighter Air regiment fought in the Korean War (with Chinese-marked aircraft) from November 1950 to February 1951.

I thought this is a nice comparison with Tim's MiG on his hand. My hand is not big enough and MG-129 barely stands on it ....

Pasi,

That is an excellent idea! Eduard's little MiGs are among the best aircraft model kits I've ever had the pleasure to build.

I can definitely recommend them!
