I wouldn't say no to a Korean War campaign either. Got a couple of things that would work for that.

I was wondering since Vietnam seem to be a great subject for a campaign, why not do the Korean War next ?

I wouldn't be against it by any means. Do you want to propose it, Jacob?

Great to see the Gallery filling up and all the finished projects.
Michael Your Skyhawk looks great.
Franck nice to see Your Haybusha coming along - I know that kit is not as easy to build as it seems.
Peter great that You managed to get the F-4 done in such tight time schedule.

Wow,
I have been a while offline and now I am amazed about all those gems built!

Carlos and Peter: Congrats on Your Phantoms. I like them very much.

Pasi and Michael: There cannot be too many Skyhawks. Beautiful job, you have done!

eman: Your APC looks really good.

Klaus Adler: Nice figure painting skills. These ones will be great in a diorama. Have You in mind to build one?

Jacob: Outstanding skills on building Your Hun. The metal finish is simply great!

That's nice metal finish. Specially the heat effects near engine exhaust.

@Pasi is right and IMHO your F-100 looks great! I know as a modeler one sees his own mistakes, but in the end it's a very nice model anyway

Well, didn't think I'd make it, but whaddaya know. The Haseagawa 1/48 A-4C Skyhawk depicting the CO's aircraft of VA-94, the Mighty Shrikes, off the USS Enterprise on Yankee Station 1965-66.

Out of the box except:

True Details seat
Bombs and MER sourced from the Academy F-4B (which I intend to do in air-to-air configuration).
Victory Production decals

Not 100% thrilled with it, but it's nice to get one done! I've always liked the A-4 and it's good to add this one to the collection.

Happy to report that The "Hun" is done. F-100D-85 serial 563405 nicknamed "Tonya" serving with 307th TFS of the 31st TFW, as seen in summer 1965 at Bien Hoa Base. This particular plane actually survived the war and was expended two decades later as a flying target drone.
Now regarding the Trumpeter kit, its the best F-100D in 1/48 out there, but it has a lot of issues and it was fighting me the whole way. Incorrect intake, poor details in areas like exhaust, wheel bays, incorrect wheels, missing panel lines, canopy and the worst is that the wings are sitting too high in the fuselage which is basically unfixable. I have complicated matters still with AM wheel bays and the fix of the intake shape. Do they look great ? Yes. Was it worth the hassle ? No. I have also made a few mistakes myself. I used incorrect refueling probe, didnt attach the canopy correctly and the kit is lacking majority of stencils. The decals also arent 100% correct. Especially letters seem to be a bit out of proportion. The cannon-panels should also be painted black, and the plane is overall maybe too shiny, but Im not going to mess with it anymore. So there You have it. Please dont ming the Flack Jacket and Airlift-patched shirt in the background, I didnt have anything TAC-related on hand when taking the pictures.

@ David - These guys look real business!
@ Stephen - Keep going, everything will be OK

My F-4C is nearly done, only Sidewinders and canopies to glue on.
Then I'll take the final photos for the gallery

Everyone's builds are coming along really nicely.

Lap Man great work on your M163. I had no idea that version was used in Vietnam, I always thought it was introduced much later to service. Might have to build one of my own. I assume that they were used in an anti-personel role rather than anti-aircraft?

I won't say no to an extension. While I'm on the home stretch, everything that can go wrong has gone wrong. First I lost one of the kits underwing pylons, forcing me to go rooting through the stash and spares box to find an alternative. Luckily I had the Hobbyboss F-5E I could take them from. Then, while working on the undercarriage last night I managed to snap the nose leg. So instead of painting I spent the night repairing it with a pin. Hopefully I won't have anymore disasters before the deadline.

@ Lap Man - APC is looking great! Congrats!

Last night I wanted to give my F-4 the matt coating from the spray can, but the spray button was stuck, no chance. Will return it (full!) to the shop after work today
Drop tanks, missiles and the canopies still laying around....

Good idea for the extension, Michael and the campaigners.

I continue the paint work. Using the available enamel paints in my stash.

Regards,
K.

So I'm thinking of an extension until 15 July. How does everyone feel about that?
Michael

I'd appreciate this for sure
With a lot of business projects on my head I have a huuuge backlog on workbench (hmm... why are people so serious with deadlines prior holidays ). These few more days should do the trick for my A-7

Cheers,
Radek

lapman, your APC is looking good.

I printed out the camo scheme on hard card to use as a template and took a pencil to outline each color before I use the a/b again.
