Hi Peter my humble thanks for the compliment! I've come to like the way she looks it was just the initial dissatisfaction over the post shading and that has now faded.

Chris, I like the post shading on the Canberra. Makes it look like a veteran of many missions.

Update on T-34/85 with Soldiers.

Nearly done with all construction and detailing. Seams are cleaned off the figures. I replaced all the poorly molded weapons with new ones made of styrene.

Painting is up next. Thanks for viewing. Counting down to the 17th of December. Good luck fellow modelers on completing your projects.

Getting close...

And for the first ever time in scale modeling there is an EXACT color match between decals and paint. The number on the rudder is 126, but the paint and decal match exactly and the 1 disappears. Oh well the decals are done, now on to some paint touch ups and the fiddly bits. this thing might actually get finished..

Many of the fiddy bits in place. Only the Yagi aerials, tail hook and radio masts left. I could have this one done tomorrow.

Mark, your Avenger looks fantastic with its markings applied. Crazy how the #1 disappeared into the white of the triangle flash. Are you going to attempt an outline of the number?
Keep having fun. Bill

Haven't really thought about how to fix it. I'm hoping that one fades faster than the other. I might have some gray numbers I could use, but that just seemed odd to have 2 different color numbers on the plane.

Update on T-34/85 with Soldiers.

Near Disaster!!! The old Airfix tracks snapped apart in several places. I replaced them with Fujimi spare ones. Had to pin and weigh them down.

Double Disaster!!! The Fujimi tracks fell apart as well. The drive sprocket and a road wheel broke off too. I had to drill and pin them back on. 1st time I ever wanted to smash a model with a 10lbs. hammer!!!

Sanity regained, I affixed a 3rd set of tracks to the kit. These came from a Revell reboxing of the Matchbox T-34 kit. Decals being applied came from my spares collection. Pfew!
Thanks for viewing. Counting down to the 17th of December.

My entre to this campaign

Nice little model and i could not resist to do a bit off work on it, so i added a engine

The color was easy i though

But i guess i should have started with red or white as the yellow was not to my liking,.. any way after multiple coats and extra brush strokes i gave up..

here the final pic.
Its a Tiger Moth that served in the Dutch Indies, decals are from Flevo Decals

thanks

Wow, the yellow is really attractive, Janssen.

I finally finished my Airfix Sea Harrier FA2:

Thank to this campaign, I collected three RAF Harriers:

Thanks Will, but don't let the Rivet Police too close. At a minimum, the missile fins are 90 degrees off, a couple overlap and I might have drilled out a mounting hole or 2 too large to be buried under the pylon. But in the happy news section, I've only got the tail hook, pitot tube and antenna masts to go. Might even try it rig an antenna. A good clear coat would qualify this one to be FINISHED.

Coming around the clubhouse turn and down the home stretch:

I also found my AWOL radio operator, who managed to get left out when I closed up the fuselage. And I found that the instructions didn't match the box art. Had I put the large number in front of the national insignia on the side and the small numbers in front of the tail triangle, all that effort would be out where everyone could see it.

Mark, I sympathize with your frustration. Well, if you ever build another Airfix Avenger(maybe a new mold one) down the road you can be fore armed. Missing Navigator looks like a Gremlin on the wing....hahahahahaha. Good luck finishing the kit.

It has been wonderful seeing all these great builds completed and I congratulate everyone on finishing!

Unfortunately I am going to miss the deadline by quite a wide margin!

Here's the last pics I took last week. Normally I would use a liquid mask to create the camo pattern but my brand of choice wasn't available and the only one my LHS had available was a right sow's ear to work with.

so it was off with the liquid mask and back to old school blu tack and masking tape...

As of this date I've just managed to paint the white of the invasion stripes on and I may get the black on before Sunday but that's as close as I'm going to get I'm afraid...

Thanks to the campaign admins for running the show and hopefully I'll fare better in Airfix V (hint hint )

Stick a fork in it, it's done. Done. Done.

This is my second Ancient Airfix Assembler campaign. It's been a lot of fun, thanks to all who participated and the campaign manager who pulled it together.

While I might sign up for Airfix V, I'd like to take a break, how about Medieval Matchbox II or Historic Hasegawa for the next old kits build?

Off to find the gallery and post.

Russell, I hope you post your Tiffy in the forum when you finish.
Mark, the Avenger turned out wonderfully. You made that old kit shine.

It's been an honor participating in this campaign, and seeing everyone's builds.
