I love it Doug, that's the kind of maintenance vignette all of us who have ever read Sheperd Paine's books wants to do !

I hope this doesn't mean an end to the steady stream of 109:s though?

wanted to do a diorama from this picture, I will use the Revell G 10

here it is so far, I used a dremel to hollow it out on the inside and then with a sharp X-Acto cut the holes and damage into it.

DOUG, THANKS FOR SHOWING US ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL BUILDS !!!

It's really inspiring to look at the fantastic work and I think time is coming to get one of my many 109's (one cannot have enough ) out of my shelf soon...

Your crashed 109 will be a really eyecatcher for sure

Doug! Sorry to be so repetitive but this is simply great! I love the look of it!

For the rest of you out there who haven't done it yet: check out Doug's other builds (go to his profile page here on Aeroscale and then click "Topics started". He does more than 109's, and he does it very well !

found this great figure set from ICM of 1/48 german aircrew and it had a terrific figure of Adolf Galland so I got the Airfix 109 E7 out and some micro scale decals and here it is.

I had a set of decals left over from the Airfix kit of a tropical 109 E7 so I put a Hasegawa 109 together to use them. Here it is.

I added some wires and tubing but not much was needed for this one

engine parts

i added seat belts made from paper as the kit only has decals for the belts.

paint and decals

since the kit comes with both open and closed cowls I used the closed ones for a mask while painting, I will do the open engine for the final.

Hi Doug

Lovely work on the new Tamiya Gustav - I'd expect no less!

How did you get on with the kit decals? Kevin had a hard time with them in his review build for us but, conversely, Steve Evans found them excellent in his Valiant Wings build.

All the best

Rowan

the decals went on without a hitch for me, I used Solvaset which is a little stronger than most.

must.resist.buying...for now.
Looking good Doug, as always. Are those locating tags on the gear legs so the angles are correct? If so, very nice.
Edit. Those paper belts are looking pretty fine also, Is that just normal 80gsm or something particular?

regards.
