Hmmmm. Partially solid canopy and loop antenna fairing on the clear sprue. Do I detect the possibility of doing Halestorm, perchance?

Vale George Hale

This looks very nice, thanks for the review Andy. The Meteor and the Me262 are really the only two jet aircraft that appeal to my current area of interest, so a new-tool kit is high on my purchase list now.

This looks like a great model. I am very impressed with all of the internal structure.

It looks like Airfix is making a climb back towards the top tier of the model companies.

It's almost to the point that there's no need to read the reviews of new-tool Airfix kits - I don't think that there's been an actual stinker in the past couple of years.
Their work on 1/72 aircraft is particularly amazing. I can remember not getting that level of detailing in 1/48 kits, or even 1/32 in some cases.
About the only thing that I'd say that Airfix needs to work on is instrument panels. With Eduard's color PE around, however, they probably figure that's one place that they can afford to let slide without being lambasted for it.

Jessie C, the kit has both large and small bore intakes as well as the ADF fairing (not mentioned on the clear sprue) used by RAAF aircraft. So in short, yes "Halestorm" or any RAAF aircraft is good to go direct from the kit.

Airfix would have been incredibly short-sighted not to offer the option.

True, the only thing you may have to source are wheels as apparently the RAAF Meteors had block tread and only smooth are supplied.

We need a decal sheet of Aussie F.8 in thr Korean War. Lots of neat nose art options. A long time coming, glad it has arrived. Going to compare the Airfix kit to my Classic Airframes F.8, I think there is an Aussie Korean War Meteor option.
