Considering that I didn't finish any of my hanger queens last year, count me in this year.

Hi Everyone,

Now that the Xmas celebrations are ending, it's time to choose which shelf of doom stranded project you want to rescue!

Hangar Queen campaign is back for it's sixth edition and our roll call presently goes on 13 enlisted (not that I am superstitious).

I'll go for a very long time Queen, an Eduard bf.110 in the quarter scale using a BoB markings from Superscale. Pics will be posted soon.

Feel free to post updates or start a building thread if you wish, just share

Cheers
Pedro

Hi Brent,

Your French Bearcat is looking good, guess it will be complete in a breeze.

What model is it?

Here's my Hangar Queen, Eduard's 1/48 bf.110 C.

This project got stuck 2-3 years ago, simply because i started building it with no image of this particular plane except Xtradecals drawings.
By that time I got my hands on the excellent "Messerchmitt bf.110 c,D and E" book, i finally found a photo that appears to point some discripancies regarding camouflage, colours, and the rear gunner type of canopy.

Also a portion the whitewash in the nose started flaking off (no idea why).

Regarding camouflage, I tend to believe it was a 70/02 splinter and not the 70/71 suggested by Xtradecals. Furthermore this plane showed a weird RLM 65(?) squiggle over the leading edges of it's wings.
I found another photo of yet another bf.110 that also sported this method, so I suppose it was to break the silhouette head-on, field applied...

I won´t be repainting the upper colours (damn the torpedoes!), otherwise the rest will be added.

As for the rear gunner's canopy, the plane, a C version, already had a central fairing for the MG gun, not the initial side fairing to store it (giving the canopy was fully closed and required opening it as to allow the gunner to shoot at enemies). Am thinking how to correct this.

Cheers,
Pedro

I'm in - I have two kits that need a push - a 1/48 eduard Sopwith triplane and a 1/32 scale Academy Sopwith camel. Both are stuck.

These are my entries for this year. I think these 4 have been through 3 campaigns.

I might try getting this one done from yet another campaign

I have a pile of hanger queens I intend to finish up this year. Actually, this will be the only campaign I do this year. I like taking part in group builds, I just can't seem to ever finish them on time while balancing work and home with my hobbies. In no particular order, I plan to finish up as many of these as I can this year (all are 1:48):

Accurate Miniatures PBJ-1D (conversion)
Hasegawa Fw 190F-8
Hasegawa Ki-61
Monogram OS2U Kingfisher
Academy P-38M Night Lightning
Eduard P-38L Pacific Lightning

Other than those the only other thing I want to focus on is finishing my first ship for Model Shipwrights, a Tamiya 1:350 Fletcher.

I need a bigger bench for all of these half-finished projects!

@Richard- Biplanes are awesome, nice if you finish any of those 2

@Rob- 2 duels is ambitious for sure Hope to see all four completed.

@Paul- what a long list! The PBJ or the KI-61...I wouldn't mind building those.

Guys, thanks for enlisting!

Cheers,
Pedro

I have a 1/72 Revell Me-262 A-1a and a 1/48 Revell SH-60B waiting to be finished. Maybe I can finish at least one of them in time before the campaign closes

Thanks for starting and hosting this!

Hi
I have a 48 scale B-17 that I started 3 years ago. I keep putting it aside in favour of quicker builds but now I am determined to get it finished.....this year. I will post some pictures soon.

Ok, so it's the B1

Two Bobs decals and probably no ordinance. The kit is full of air launched cruise missiles and I am NOT scratchbuilding the rotary launcher.

Here are some pics of the B-17. It's just about ready to paint, so I'm off to the LHS to stock up on Neutral Grey and Olive Drab.

DSCN2465

So now it's time to get things out of the way... so new things can get in my way.

Great to see some interesting hangar queens in this campaign.

I will probably go for some unfinished war gaming birds for this one. There is enough to pick from in the half finished stash

Looks like I may actually finish something! I started this Mig-3 for the overshadowed fighters campaign and will hopefully get it done for this one.

Hyder, what scale is your Hind? On the graph paper there it almost looks like the 1/35th Trumpter kit.
and $#%@$%%@!#, you... ( grin) you've got me distracted to thinking of dragging MY 1/35th kit out and finishing it.
There goes all hope of finishing the B1.. -grin-

Hi all,

So 1/72? All that detail in your photo sure fooled me

Also, welcome aboard Jasper and Ryan! I am sure you guys will deliver some stupendous models during this campaign. Btw, Ryan your MIG-3 looks terrific, what scale is it?

I am away from home all week long (work life keeps getting harder these days) so no bench time on my bf.110 C.
But I can (and will...) list all kits proposed by you folks for this campaign very soon. Hope this may help your drive to complete them on time

Cheers

Hi Everybody
I'm in with my Italeri EH-101 Comorant that I started for the Rotor RPM is Life campaign.

I have to do touch ups on the paint job, scratch build a light and winch and do the decals. Hopefully I can get it done this time
