Hi Fellow Campaigners!
My entry is the Otaki N1K1-J Shiden to the Japanese, and George to the Allies

I got it second hand. The wings and Fuselage halves had already been removed from the sprue, and I hope the rest of the pieces are there. Seems to be, anyway. I'm not really certain how old the kit is but I've been looking forward to the opening of this campaign so I could have a crack at it. It doesn't have a lot of parts, but the devil will be in the finish, I imagine.

Best of Wishes,

Gary

Hi Everyone,
Change one to my plan. This morning a disaster of my own making befell the Otaki kit. So, I made my way to my LHS and found the only Shiden available. It's also 1/48 scale, but made by Tamiya.

Sorry for the restart. I didn't want to bale out when we'd only just begun.

Best Wishes,

Gary

Gary,

Rather a nicer kit, I think you'll be pleased!

Damn Gary that's a shame! Still full marks for perseverance! As usual I look forward to seeing it get the "Gazza" treatment.

Hi Chris,
It's heart rending when you see a kit you got at a great price become useless in seconds. This plane's treatment is very experimental. I don't know if it will look good or not when finished.

Cheers,

Gary

I guess it's all about finding what works Gary and if it doesn't refine it till it does. Or alternatively chalk it up to experience and move on to something else that might work for you. I haven't tried much in the way of chipping preferring the ease of a factory fresh delivery.

Here is my entry, a Hasegawa P-47 “Razorback”. I want to build it as Colonel Neel Kearby’s aircraft Fiery Ginger IV. I have got my reference books and the decals. I bought the AeroMaster set but it is for one of Kearby’s early P-47’s blue 73. I have found that there is another decal set I may use. Mike Grant makes a set for Fiery Ginger IV.

Chris,
Don't do it! You'll be trapped with an unquenchable desire to build a B-29 Silver Plate which you have no room to display.

Honestly, thank you for your compliment. Beware, that you will find it more and more difficult to use silver or aluminum paints. However, it is less expensive than painting.

Best Wishes,

Gary

I may have a change of plans (me? ) I'm having a hard time getting motivated lately and thought a nice Hasegawa 1/32 Thunderbolt might be the ticket:

I think I like it. No fun building if you're not interested in the subject.

Well, change of plans. I am still going to build a model of Fiery Ginger IV but I am going to use a Tamiya P-47 instead of the Hasegawa. I also have the Quick boost early straight cowl flaps and Thunder Cal decals. This leaves me with a spare P-47 kit. If I manage to finish this kit before the deadline I could build the Hasegawa for the 56th fighter group build.

Howdy Y'all
Here's the kit I'll be building for the campaign. I started it a while back but didn't get very far.

I haven't decided which plane I will build but I'm leaning toward a British Thunderbolt II.
The HobbyBoss kit is fairly straight forward but I'd like to detail up the cockpit at least with some P.E. harness belts.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Greetings all, ill be participating in my first ever group build with academys P38 J. Possibly will be in the livery of "Beautiful lady" but i may change my mind. I plan on a few more aftermarket bits in addition to what's in the photo. Maybe a set of gun barrels as well as an Eduard PE detail set for the landing gear. Will be my first NMF paint job too so it's going to be a learning experience. Looking forward to this and seeing everyone else's build!

Works had me tied up for a while but im finding some bench time this weekend so I decided to get a start on this campaign. Originally planning on building a special hobby 1/72 macchi c.200 saetta, Ive changed to a simpler italeri 1/72 c.202 folgore. It looks like a nice little kit with a great looking decal sheet and sufficient detail to keep me happy as long as the canopy is closed. The only aftermarket I forsee is some smoke ring decals
As usual I started in the pit, in this case removing some unfortunately placed pin marks. Thankfully the seat has some semblance of the italian harness that should look plenty good under the framed canopy. I plan to replace the lost cockpit wall detail with stretched sprue but now im off looking for italian cockpit green mixes

Some progress on the Hasegawa 1/32 J2M3 Raiden:

This one is strictly out of the box except for the Eduard seat belts. Since these pics, I've remembered to add the seat cushion and gotten the fuselage closed up.

Hi Michael,
I'm not much of a cockpit guy. Bare basic unless I have a Pilot to strap in. Yours looks good!
