In this topic i will construct 2 of Zvezda's mi-28's. Both of the mi-28's will be corrected and built with some scratch built features as well as parts from other kits.

Looking very forward to these builds. It's quite a purposeful looking helo.
Why the fuselage surgery right out of the gate?
and one last question (of many to come, I am sure) why the Zvezda kit?

The zvezda kit is the only one that i feel is the best kit for building a mi-28ne. also i cut the off before the picture was taken.

Here are some more pictures of my work.

I cut off the nose sensor because zvezda made it too long and i will replace it with a shorter one that came with the kit. i also put some more work on the fuselage.

this is the inventory of helicopters based weapons ihave. but only some will be used.

025

some times when i build models i like to put things together to see how they may look, so this is what it may look like when its finished.

I’ve finally finished the painting of the cargo bay interior now.
211 005
211 006
Sorry about the quality of this picture but this is the best one out of all of them.
211 009
211 016
I finally got started on gluing the two halves together
211 017
I had issues with gluing the cockpit to the shell which resulted into this happening:
211 018
I put a metal pin for the rotor head for more strength.
211 020
Now it’s finally ready to be glued together.
211 021
Here are the glued halves.
211 022
211 023
211 024
211 025
211 028
I had another look at my blue prints and found out that the tail under belly wasn’t very accurate. So I put some filler in order to start reshaping the correcting the tail underbelly.
211 033
I also got to work on filling and sanding on any imperfections.
211 034
211 035
211 038
211 039
211 041
211 042
211 043
211 046
211 048
211 049
A look at how the canopy fits.
211 053
The start of working on the chin mounted canon parts.
211 036
Work on the MI-28 Rear wheel made from a Hobby Boss MI-24’s front wheels. Sorry about the quality of the pictures.
211 054
211 055
When I got started on the engine covers I realized that one of the engines was positioned wrongly which caused problems when measuring to see if the covers fit correctly. If you look closely you can see that one of the engines is raised a bit higher than the other engine.
211 057
211 057
211 059
So as a result I cut it of using a precision saw then glued it back in the correct position.
Here are some pictures of the Mi-28ne in its present state so far.
211 060
211 061
211 064
211 069
Now I’m starting work on the engine suppressors.
211 075

More progress to come.
