Hello fellow builders,
I was thinking about a campaing only about reconaissance.
I would love to see a lot of spyplanes from the beginings till know.
What do you think about it.

I think of classical Recce-planes like U2, Sr71, Fieseler Storch and those who were converted to Recce or equpied like RF4 Phantom, Recce and ECR Tornados, AWACS and many more. At least all those planes with a Recce-Pod.

Greets,
Jan

and I have all I need to build this interesting spook plane

Also interested in RA-5C, I have three 1/144 scale kits.

I'd say yes but it all depends on start date as I'm already tied into a few. What would I build no idea at this moment but if the start date is after my other campaigns are finished I may be tempted to build the 1/48 Ju-88H-1 conversion I have.

I agree. I don't need to start another campaign until after new year at least.

I have been out plane modelling for a while, busy with some (anti-aircraft) armour, but I have the 1/72 RQ-4 Global Hawk in my stash. The RQ-4 is one big flying recce-pod .

This would be a nice kit to join this campaign. I am not restricted to any start dates.

I can say that i have totaly no experience in handling a campaing or how long it takes to get one started.
But I´d like to know and to learn.

I think the start date should be around January so as many people as possible can take part.
I´m also involved in building stuff for some other campaings.
But why not making this the first campaing of the new year?

Mascharius, what better way to learn than to jump in with both feet forward? Did you read through all the instructive forum posts, like this location for general Kit-Maker user information:
http://armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewforum&forum_id=113&page=1
I thought there used to be more instruction out there. A guy named Gary in Armorama used to post instructional user stuff, but I can't find it now.
Anyway, if the Aeroscale leadership don't jump in here, you can send a PM (the "inbox" link at the top right) to admins MichaelSatin or AussieReg, and they can answer specifics.
I hope that's helpful.
...oh yeah, and I've got a Crusader in my stash that I was thinking of modifying to an RF-8, so count me in too!

Jan,

You're doing fine so far. As soon as 10 people express an interest in joining, go to the Campaign Page and click on the "Propose a Campaign" button near the top. Fill that form out (this would be a Mission, I think; though that's not terribly important) including rules and so forth and submit it, and I'll have a look. If you don't know about how you want the rules to look, I'd recommend scrolling through some of the other campaigns on that page and seeing if their rules look like you want them to. Feel free to borrow them and amend them to fit your proposal. Next to the "propose" button is a "guidelines" button. You can look at those any time for information, or feel free to send me a personal email with questions.

I think this one would probably start around November 1 and run through May 1 of next year. Hopefully that gives people a chance, but I'm flexible if need be. Participation and fun are the keys for me.

Welcome to our group, I think you'll like it here! Just about everyone is very friendly and helpful (and you can feel free to ignore anyone who isn't).

Because it is a non-combat topic, it may well take several weeks to get 10 campaigners together.

I don´t think it´s a non combat topic.
Most of the newest generation recce planes are armed, mostly for self defense. The marnie recce planes like Sunderland and co. were even armed for attack purposes.

I think all options are open. Hopefully we will get enough people together.

Many interesting planes fall within the Recce category, for example the Canberra PR9 or a (Dutch) Starfighter or F-16 with the Orpheuspod and even the Spitfire.

I hope more people will join!

Hi all,

if i may join with the french navy Alouette III, which one of the missions is to patrol for sea rescue (but i don't know if it's too far for the campaign subject) you can count me in.

cheers

@Nicolas: I´d say yes. Navypatrol is a part of reccon, if they were searching for subs or for people in need they are searching.

Hmmm, just picked up Minicraft's EC-121. There might be an F-6 somewhere in the stash, an SR-71 and 1 or 2 RA-5C's. And an RF-8 if I was really brave. But since I'm 0 for 2015 on completions...

Count me in on this campaign Jan. There are plenty of subjects to choose from. Though I am tempted to build something like a RV-1D Mohawk or perhaps a Canberra [RAF or USAF B-47] or a Vulcan B.2 (MRR) or a .......

Let's see if we can get this campaign going for the new year.

so far we have
Mascharius
JClapp
Littorio
Sparndammer
WindySean
Tinbanger
SGTJKJ
Nico37
LiteSpeed
C4Willy
and for good measure MD72, despite wishy washy sentiments.

I think this is a very solid crew, mates!

Jan, it is your campaign, if you are ready I think you should submit it.

I'm not wishy washy, I'm sure I'm not wishy washy, I'm certain I'm not wishy washy, am I?

I do recall that I started a Fujimi RF-4C a couple of years ago, if there's a Hanger Queen clause, I might have a chance of breaking a dry spell..
