@ Primorska - I was quite excited at the prospect of this release until Bill Cross pointed me to an interesting thread over on LSP comparing it with Hasegawa's kit. I can't say any of the issues highlighted were a deal-breaker for me - but, equally, I have to admit that any urgency I felt about buying it was dampened somewhat.

That said, I'd love to see how Revell's kit turned out in the hands of Les King (Matrixone) - I'm sure it would look pretty stunning.

My last club meeting he local vendor had a number of them for sale. members took them all and it was the talk of the meeting. Price, alot cheaper then alot 1/32 kits coming these days. it should be fun build for all who get them.

Rowan, thanks for the shout-out, but I should point out that the Hasegawa kit did not get a pass in all areas of that comparison. And since Hasegawa kits in this scale are usually at least 2x the price of the Revell, there is the question of whether it's better to go with a very good inexpensive kit and then use the difference in price to "tart it up" as you Brits would say. For super-detailers, this kit will allow some areas to be improved and will net out no more expensive than the Hasegawa.

The price difference depends on where you live. Hasegawa kits are actually often as cheap, or cheaper, than Revell in the Far East (don't we all love distributors! ). The nice thing in the UK is that Revell's Fw 190 is already easily found at less than £30.00, which definitely makes it more attractive than at the MRP.

Make no mistake, I'll probably get one (at full price), as my LHS will likely get a couple in and I always try to support them where I can.

Agreed. I often pine for my days traveling to Asia on assignment thinking of the kits I could bring back in my pack.
