Hey Jon, that's my post in the background.

Did a short search of the stash and found the Hudson, Ventura and the Starfighter. Didn't find the S-3. The Hudson is toast, the box is a bit smoked and at least one wing deformed. The Ventura got some paint on it before it got put up. I'll share pics and see if it's too far started for the campaign.

yes, that was my time stamp for the photos, I had not bought the paper yet at that time of the morning.

THats a little disturbing that kits are missing and damaged in storage did I miss a story about your house catching fire?

We are specificly inviting partly started kits into campaigns nowadays. lets see that Ventura

Thankfully (for me at least) the fire was at someone else's place...
The guy brought them to a club meeting, and I got 3 or 4 at OK prices, based on the promise that they'd all been checked and there were no damaged parts... On closer examination at least 3 had damaged parts. If I could remember the 4th kit, it's probably damaged too. My car smelled like I'd had a fire in it by the time I got home that night.

I've got an arm load of other Lockheed kits in the stash; Neptune, Connie, S-3 (in 2 scales?), F-104, F-80, T-33, F-94 (early jets build), P-38 (2), XFV, SR-71 (2?), C-130, F-117. Just limiting myself to single engine and smaller twins cause I have very little display space.

Eduard 1:48 Limited Edition Pacific Lightnings

I am going to do a complete build log for this and the Fork Tailed Devil campaigns. I will be building Eduard's P-38L as LT Hart's "Peewee V" of the 475th FG Satan's Angels, the box art plane.

I don't think I will get started on it for a couple of weeks, but everything is ready to go. I'll be sure and post some update photos here as I go.

I started with lots of brass stuff and I´m a total beginner in this topic.
First you have to cut out the doors from the bombbay and build it up with brass, the door as well.
Then you totaly have to rebuild the cockpit with it. The normal details suck and with those hughe cockpit windows you can see everything.

Prety nice to see a P-38 in here.

Ya know, You've almost convinced me to drop the Ventura in place of the Heller P-38. Then I'd be building two P-38's side by side for this campaign and the Fork Tailed Devil one..

Hi Everybody, for this campaign I'm going to build a L&S Models 1/144 Lockheed CP-140 Aurora. The kit doesn't have many parts so I'm expecting a straight forward and fun build, except for the multi-coloured propeller blades...

Hello Ron, welcome aboard.
That is a nice kit. Everything fits well. you are right about those prop tip decals, but I think the most challenging part is masking the cockpit canopy.

I've made a start on my Aeroclub P2V Neptunes.
massive sprues with big thick gates, I opted for the saw to separate them

Very much a short run kit, from the 1980s I guess. There is no PE, in fact any desired details will need to be scratch built.
The landing gears are of white metal.

interesting wing/nacelle construction, with no indication as to wheel strut location.

all sub assemblies done

Also no interior. the fuselage will need its cockpit and windows cut open.

There is just one error in the kit. the engines have one exhaust on center of each side, but the Wright 3350 engines had two exhausts on the port side. I think I can delete the erroneous one and create correctly placed replacements, similar to the ones I did recently on the Welsh vacuform DC-7

yes, any C-130 varient is firmly rooted in Lockheed history.
Even the Super J is only an upgraded and modernized Herc.

Hallo Everybody, what about a F-104 G of the German Marine in some smaller scale (1/144). Would this be o.K., because most of them were built under license by other companies?

Ha Oliver, That would be acceptable. The design and engineering is all Lockheed, even though built by others under license.

edit to add: You are especially welcome to build a model in my personal favorite scale, 1:144

Hallo Jonathan,
that´s great. Than I am in with the kit of Revell´s Lockheed F-104 G, Scale 1/144. As this kit is rather tiny, I will do the TF-104G, as well and will see, what´s different.
