Richard,

Is this the official campaign thread? If so, I'll sticky it. I'm in, by the way, as I believe I'm getting a certain large recent Airfix release for Chanukah and may have to dive right in!

Now that I'm actually here I find myself at a loss as to what to do exactly in terms of which kit to build. I have a couple of 1/24th scale Stuka's but I'm unsure if I'll have the time to get one completed. I have a couple of Spitfires in 1/48 as well as an Me109-F and several 1/72 scale kits. I could finally build the Avro Anson and mark it as one the examples the flew with the RNZAF. I have a 1/48 scale Fury biplane as well that I feel beckoning to me. There are six months more or less I wonder if that would be enough time to do the Stuka kit justice?

Any feed back about my choices?? Just looking to see if I can crystallize my ideas. I have the Montex masks ( sorry Mal!) to build the Stuka with the snake on the side hence my indecision as the masks will take a while to get done properly. And I perversely like doing things that aren't being done by anyone else.

As a clarification is there a limit as to the age of the moulds? The last campaign was limited to moulds that were pre 1980 (if I remember rightly). Are Airfix's new mould kits eligible? Any input would be appreciated.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish one and all a great festive season may Santa bring you what you desire!

Hi Chris.
If I had an Anson in my stash it would be my choice.

Merry Christmas to all!

Hi Richard yes I'm leaning that way, I have a couple of 1/48 scale Classic Airframes to build but I think for this campaign I'll go the true nostalgia route as I built one of these when I was knee high to a grasshopper, thanks for the input. If anyone else has any ideas or suggestions I'm all ears.

I recently received the Airfix Dogfight set with a P-40 and a Zero. I completely forgot about this campaign, and was so eager to get the build started, I'm already about halfway through the Zero. I haven't started the P-40 yet though, could I hold off on that until the end of the year, and just submit the P-40? Or am I already ineligible for building the Zero?

Hi Logan.
Enjoy your Zero build and hold off on the P-40 until the campaign starts!
When you post your completed model photos in the Gallery post them as a dog fight double!

These new 72 scale airfixes fall together so nicely I think I'll be able to get this ribbon.

Now to try and find out if the puzzling colour callouts in the instructions are correct.
