I would like to announce my new products on Aeroscale, so I will put it here

The first announcement is that I have, finally, started my own product line For several yeras now I have been producing paint masks for individuals but I have wanted to share what I can do with the greater modelling community I have had plenty of ideas but struggled to work out packaging that I was happy with, or get a web site up and running from which to sell them. With Scale Modelworld looming and having caught up on everything that I was trying to accomplish before the show; well not quite the P-47 and Spitfire will not make it However once I decided that they would get finished it freed up a lot of time so I decided that I would have another look at something that I have been striving for over the last year, camouflage masks for the Spitfire I had gotten close but with hours of tweaking and testing 1 or 2 of the masks still weren't right. So I started again and with determination cracked it in 2 days It took another week to sort out the packaging, with the help of profiles by Richard J. Caruana, the famous profile artist (yes I have his permission and he sent me the profiles, I added the camo masks), how cool is that
So I have my first product:
Spitfire camouflage masks.

And to show that they do work, who doubted it? I have included pictures of my Spitfire masked up and ready for the dark green. I nearly painted it, after taking these pics but it will show off the masks better like this, on my trade stand, I'll paint it after the show.

The Spitfire will be going to the ball (Scale Modelworld) after all

Having cracked this I decided that I would get another product sorted, D-Day stripe helpers. Masks for the actual stripes would be pretty difficult to use accurately and almost impossible for me to draw with the necessary degree of accuracy, plus there would have to be separate masks for each aircraft! this neat solution makes it possible to mask stripes for any aircraft

This is the start of generic masking solutions, I have the next on in the planning stage. After Scale Modelworld I will be concentrating on getting a web site up and running and then I will sort out more specific masks. I have, what I think, is a neat idea for presenting masks for markings, watch this space

Hi Paul,
Are you going to Telford? If so drop by my trade stand and take a look and have a chat

Today I cut the masks to get them packaged up for Telford and, although I hadn't planned on doing them, I have cut masks in 1/144 scale as well as 1/72, 1/48, 1/32 and 1/24 The 1/144 mask set is so small that, if there is sufficient call for them, there will be 4 sets per pack Luciano, I'll have a set (of 4) for you to try

Nice to see you again, Steffen and Santa-Luc

Sorry that you couldn't make it Paul

Well I had a good week end at Telford, dinner with Jim Hatch, Peter Buckingham, the Zoukei-Mura crew, including the boss and a couple of other guys The 2 products that I took (above) were well received, I virtually sold out of the camo masks, just a few of the 1/72 scale examples left, and I sold enough of the "D-Day stripe helpers" to show that it is a viable product. I chatted to lots of modellers about masks and made some good contacts; hopefully some of that should turn into products and more exposure I have paid the deposit for a stand next year and I'm looking to have quite a few more products in the range, so watch this space
