Hi
So I primed it with surfacer 1200 with a airbrush
First time I do this, I'm afraid I did'nt thin enough and got a grainy surface
On the bottom side, as awaited, you can see the layers
On the top, the walkways made with 0.08 mm half round are 0K. You can see the tiny roof door hinge.
side details : plates are 0.2 mm thick
and the ultimate detail, the holding bar...
now I let it dry one night, then I grain it with micromesh

I'm looking forward to seeing how it cleans up Norbert. As I've said before, this is truly superb, and your use of 'print-a-part' is a sign of things to come I think.

After polishing, I compared the fuselage with trumpeter CH-47 at the same scale
and I think I will do the panel lines slighly thinner
details survived to the polishing
and I made the bottom side steps flush

Is it not possible to make outside and inside fuselage in one part?
The technology you are using is perfect for prototyping, but not (yet) for mass production, maybe a mold making company could be interested in you prototype?

I forgot to answer to the questions above
It is possible to do outside and inside in one piece. I do so to have better reach for the inside painting.
A friend wants me to do a 1/48 version, so I look how to make it, but I feel the pannel lines will disapear.

Hai,
I think that you have a great potetnial for a real market here.
I would for instance also be interested in a 1/48 scale.
Aslo, when you have the 3D model, how difficult would it be to "invert" it, make a resin mould and ....
well, you get the picture

The model is not perfect so far, so I learn the hard way, doing mistakes. And each section has is own.
Will see if I can do something marketable. Will know it only when this model is done.

Not only in scale, I have seen this thing a few times in an airshow. A chinook looks tiny compared to it

As one alternative, those trucks and the MI-6 could perhaps find a solid market , when finished

Great performance. I build such models to fly. Even just the small, from 1:72 to 1:24.

Hi, project is on side since many years now. I look sometimes to the parts hopping I'll find some free time. In the meanwhile, I started the Reedoak figures business and the technics I learned with this model were very helpfull : www.reedoak.com
