Roman Volchenkov builds a limited release from Cyberhobby, the 2cm Flak 30 gun, long-waited by many Axis modellers.

Nice review, Roman, and the build shows what appears, at least to me, to be a pretty nice and "good-looking" representation of this early-war "icon".

The gun certainly looks a lot cleaner and more-detailed than do those old Esci / Italeri things! Natch, I've done gone around with one of those to try and capture the details which appear "OOTB" here! So, from that, I look forward to getting either this C-H kit, or more likely the follow-up version with shields and trailer that Dragon is sure to put out. There's lots of things a guy could do with a decent Flak 30... and much quicker if he could just build a nice one from the box!

I am very disappointed about the lack of traverse - that would seeming have been quite easy to do, as in the superb Dragon Flak 38 and Jaboschreck kits (which are of comparable small frame size and share a very similar mount base-plate). So, NO HATS OFF to the D from me for this laziness. Fortunately, someone out there (I must apologize for not having the citation to post here...) has already posted on a pretty straight-forward "cut and add" modification to solve this issue, but It's just sad that we'll have to go that extra step to get the desired traversed look. And, yeah, that markings-gaff about "east front" in 1940... a bit silly of D. Still, this thing soldiered all over Europe and north Afrika, so many paint schemes are possible.

Bob, I am glad that you like the review and most importantly give feedback. Thanks.
I am sure they will use the molds for many models but then they won't fix the traverse I guess.
