Development was completed several years ago. The first time that the general public saw the end result was in 2009. It was on display with several other WNW kits built up (but not painted} for the Wellington Expo. Now WnW gives us its fine moulding of the venerable RE 8 in1:32.

It appears you were cut off in your explanation of the Lows regarding rigging instructions. Enquiring minds want to know. Aside from that, great review. I really want to do this one, along with all it's stablemates.

Thanks Carl! This was a particularly long revierw and the comments boxes sometimes crop info. The comment has been restored. I was noting that some concerns about the rigging might have been posted on page 7 instead the end of the instructions, This a small concern in an otherwise most impressive kit.

Hi Stephen,

I'm not saying this to advance myself onto your Christmas list but your reviews are some of the finest I've read anywhere on any subject. While I'm not necessarily a WWI modeler, I must admit your work has piqued my interest - I guess this is the highest compliment I can offer.

A very sincere thank you for the outstanding work.

My thanks for your kind words. Just to be clear even though I wrote the review let me note here again - I would like to thank Aeroscale member Mr. Gordon Upton for allowing his build images to be posted with this article.

Thank You Stephen for bringing us this very comprehensive review  – and a 96% rating must be one of the highest scores of any kit...

I have this in my stash (I must agree its looking most impressive), and its in pool position to be next after the Hansa – so I'll use your review as a reference for this build for sure!

Best Regards

Mikael

This is hands down one of the ugliest aircraft I have ever seen, and I have had my eye on it since it was announced by WNW. This will probably be in my next order from WNW. Thanks for the heads up about the rigging
