I stumbled across this site when my 13-year-old son showed an interest in all my old modelling paraphernalia & now I'm hooked on modelling again... LOL!
I used to model mostly small-scale aircraft back in the day but I've discovered a love of 1:35 armour (once again thanks to my son), & I suspect the quality & detail in the Dragon kits.
I would love to try my hand at building some dioramas but finding materials locally is just about impossible. Hopefully I'll get some pointers from you folks about who the "good guys" are when it comes to international orders & deliveries (nudge, nudge, wink, wink... say no more). The other challenge I'll have (once I get some materials) is actually learning how to use them...
Been trawling this site for quite a while now getting really helpful info & tips. Hope I'll be able to return the favour at some stage.
That's all from me for now... see you in the forums! |

Hi jjumbo! Thanks for the welcome! Tell me about it... LOL! The people on this forum seem VERY helpful & friendly, so I'm sure I'll fit right in. One thing I realized very quickly when I first found this site was how little I actually know about scale modeling... Cheers to you to |

Hi Boet (That should bring back some memories ) Not that many of us, unfortunately I see the SA link here is really quiet... I'm sitting in Pretoria... I see you're now in NZ, how's it going that side? |

Trust me not to read your location... (& I thought we had some terrible town names) LOL! My apologies! I see you made "the move" quite recently, how's Oz treating you? I hear so, been out of the modelling scene for a LONG time though... I'll get there eventually. Cheers M8 Don |

Hi Donovan Welcome to Armorama. You will find this site to be an outstanding source of material and inspiration. There are so many talented modellers here. I am formerly from Johannesburg, now living in.......you guessed it, Toronto, Canada! Regards Garth |

LOL! You must be referring to my Shabangabanga comment - actually that's a reference to NZ It comes from a TV ad... I'll see if I can find it online tonight. Yup, I left August 2008. So far so good. Loving it here - the folks here don't know how good they've got it |

Hi Garth. It's a REALLY helpful site, I realised quickly how little I actually know about scale modelling! I hope I'll be half as good as some of the people on here (one day)! We seem to have more SA expats in here than locals... LOL! Quoted Text
