One of the things that has daunted me on building a Stryker is that it appears they have not been deployed into combat without slat armor. That seems to be an expensive and exhausting task. Is this the case? |

Hi Bill, I know what you mean, it is not cheap. However I have seen a few European dios in Iraq without slat. But I am more than sure they have only been into combat with slat. |

Until someone starts making kits with injection molded slat or bar armour then the modeler is limited to aftermarket sets.....so the overall price of the project goes up and the effort required is more than just a weekend build. There is nothing wrong with building a vehicle in a training environment without the slat....but it may become expensive and exhausting for some folks to build an accurate deployed vehicle. |

Just got the kit and love it.
One thing though, AFV Club supplies a spare tire rim but no wheel for it. I have a resin set of wheels so I can get one from another kit but thought it was a bit strange.
I love the M240 with the Elcan mounted, anyone know if you can order that sprue from AFV Club?

That is correct....I didn't bother mentioning it in the review since it has been mentioned in other AFV Club Stryker reviews. Ya, the M240B is a beauty....AFV Club should simply produce a weapons set. |

I have my M1134 nearly built up and I'm doing it as a PA National Guard vehicle used in Training without the slat armor on it. Slat is only used on deployed vehicles and is going to be replaced by ERA setup in the next year or two...but alias thats going to be another expensive aftermarket set. |

I should qualify that.....it is actually a great place to visit (fantastic food, terrific night markets, and great sights) then I headed far south to the fantastic beaches on coast and Kenting National Park. |
