What would you like to see?
All of the above plus a 1/350 HMS Warspite , the greatest battleship ever, in plastic. I swear, and you folks are my witness, if anybody ever comes out with this ship I will never ask for anything else again. |

I would like to see a 1/700 plastic USS Texas in WW1 fit. I know that one company is already issuing 1/700 dreadnoughts in plastic.

Oh yes 1-350 HMS Warspite has to be my first pick of the day, maybe by Hasegawa or Tamiya with a good pe set. Matkin Island with really good looking aircraft (not solid looking blobs) with pe enclosed, or is that pushing my luck to far ? And of course, buildings, loads and loads of varied sized buildings both in 1-350 and of course 1-700 scale. I might not be good, but at lease you get pix lol |

My list keeps shrinking every year. Ain't it a glorious time? My number one is still the 350 scale Littorio, though I did receive a PM from one of the big guys at Trumpeter that they were looking at and planning to do it for release in late 2010. After that, well

Looking at the 1:350 WWII warship situation, we have the following coverage so far: IJN--in CVs we have the Akagi and Shokaku; for BBs only the Fuso class left to do (I've heard an all-gun Hyuga is in the works); for CAs 3 of 6 classes are out or soon will be; for CLs 1 or 2 classes of 5,000 tonners and a Yahagi; for DDs just three classes represented for far; other escorts are being covered; 2 or 3 submarines and no auxiliaries in injection molding. USN--for CVs there's Lexington/Saratoga, Hornet, and both hull types for the Essex; all the fast BB classes are covered and the Arizona; only the San Francisco for CAs; no CLs officially, but I've heard this will change in a few months; for DDs we have the Fletcher, Buchanan/Laffey, and Gearing; haven't heard if a Gato is coming out yet; no auxiliaries, though. DKM--Bismarck/Tirpitz for BBs, and soon a Scharnhorst; Graf Spee for panzershiffe; Prinz Eugen for the CAs (and Hipper later?); no CLs or DDs so far; U-boats, of course and a schnellboot. French Navy--Richelieu and nothing else I'm aware of.... Italian Navy--just the Pola-class CA so far, officially. Soviet Navy--no known WWII developments in 1:350. Royal Navy--just the KGV class and the Hood & Repulse--sad, sad, sad!!!!!! I've probably left something out, but, we still have a ways to go. --Karl |

I just hope they are not like the old (bad) Heller kits of yonder... I managed to pick the 1/72 Zvezda ancient ships at a fraction of their MSRP (the Trireme, Cog and Crusader). Plastic looks crisp and good moulding, will be awhile till I actually build them though. |

Some RN cruisers - HMS Sheffield, London et al. It's hard to beleive that these significant subjects have yet to be kit-ed (in plastic). Equally, I'm sure there's a potential market for RN corvettes and frigates (in the smaller scale). Again, significant subject matter, with countless options (for re-boxing and marketing spin). I guess I'll just have to dream-on and stick with the (marginally more) expensive resin kits Cheers Karol |
