I was just checking out the stats for the network and yesterday, the number of registered Australian users clocked over to 1000. Awesome.

So... where are you all??!

Chas,

Hate to rain on your parade, but it's number of registered user accounts, not users. Yeah, there is a painful difference. Unfortunately some folks forget they've registered, don't like user names, forget passwords, etc and end up opening more than one account I've seen some users (in other countries) with up to 3 accounts, with only subtle differences in the user names

But be that as it may, it is good to see more Aussies registered on Kitmaker, now if only they'd get more active here

True, remembering it's the same case for the 37 000 registered users which the Kitmaker Network so proudly boasts, eh?

Don't worry mate, I understand. It is unfortunate... luckily most of it comes down to human error.

And another one in Perth...1/72 aircraft modeller. Finally made it in time for the swap and sell at WASMEX and glad I did too...I found a kit I'd been after for years at the bottom of Max's bargain bin...a Pegasus Boulton-Paul Balliol. Okay, you've probably never heard of it, but it's an early '50s Merlin-powered advanced trainer. What can I say? I like oddball stuff!

Any other 1/72 modellers here?

Cast an eye over my 'flying plastic' in the WWII aircraft forum if you're interested.

Ouch! I had to reach for my sunglasses to look at those, Damian! What a fabulous metal finish!

Er...I suppose you know that the BV 138 is a flying boat, not a seaplane? But I won't tell anyone if you don't!

Cheers,

Tim.

Hiya Tim,

Yeah, the campaign is Seaplanes and Flying Boats throughout History, I just lost interest in typing all of that !!
And yes, the NMF on the P-51 will be toned down heaps with flat clear and sludge, lest I lose my sight (hehehe).

By the way, "Flying Plastic" is one of the most impressive threads I've seen in my short tenure here at Aeroscale, most excellent work indeed my good man.

Cheers from the Far East.

Good to meet you Damian, and thanks...I haven't been here very long either. Having major computer problems at present, but as soon as I can get someone here to fix the damned thing for me I'll be posting up some more 'flying plastic'.

I'm thinking about doing something for the 'Ronnie RAAF' campaign, but now I might have to think about the flying boats and seaplanes one as well. I've at last got a bit of time on my hands after several years committed to other things, so one of these 'group build' projects might be just what I need to get some motivation happening!

All the best from here in the West!

Tim.

Yeah Tim, I got hooked early on the group builds, and have enlisted in 5, and even managed to start one myself as Campaign Leader (Twin Boom Campaign). I find it gives me the motivation to focus on one kit instead of my usual jumping around between 3 or 4.
