How about a 190 campaign? We have been throwing around the idea elswhere, and I thought it would be best to get it going in one place. It would be for FW 190s only. Any type or scheme. After-war included. 1/72-1/32 scale. Starting in about Feb, 2009 and going for the full 6 months. That means you have time to get the new Eduard F-8.

Comments, questions and ideas are requested.

Well, with a start in Feb 2009 I think it could work. Untill then the campaign schedule is pretty crowded.

I would definently be up for this one. Just bought two Eduard Royal Class FW 190 sets on sale

Let the Butcher birds fly!

I'll be up for this. I got a hobby boss 1/72 d-9 with the candy stripe under surfaces that I am ~itching~ to mask up.
Construction is a cinch with this kit but I've lots of builds on the go. spit, 109, 117, and a tiger, and something for the need for speed campaign.

Nice to do a restricted marque campaign and early next year is perfect.

I'll be up for this, Feb '09 is a good start date as most campaigns I'm in will be over by then.
But then again any reason to build a 'Butcher Bird'

Beautiful photos Steffen.

Carl,
You're really cranking out the great campaign ideas. I will probably join "Speed" following the Paparazzi Club Campaign. Then you've got the Mighty Eighth too! Count me in for FW-190.

Thanks for running the Twin Spinner, there were some nice builds in there.

Agreed! Focke Wulfs & Thunderbolts next year will be great I'm in too!

Now what to do, I have the Eduard A-8, Dragon A-7 slipper tanks, one mounted to a mistel and an A6 Wilde Sau decals & conersion kit but no A6 model as yet.

Would a Mistel composite be allowed???

Although Carl has the final word on this, I am 99.999% sure he will allow it. As long as there is a FW 190 involved it should be fine.

Wow, I didn't check in here yesterday, and this campaign idea took off without me.

Bob. Pleas do get a camera when you can. Or borrow one. Even an inexspensive one takes decent pictures.

Jesper, Butcher Bird will be a great name for this campaign. Sadly, I never would have thought it up. I think we will go with that. Thanks for picking up the slack on this while I was AWOL. I am guessing you will be the 2IC?

Steffan, Great Pics. We all understand about the Hackenkreuz issue. I knew you would jump into this one.

A 190 Mistel? Sure, It is still a 190, with a little added baggage.

We need to get a date range figured out so it can be submitted. Ribbon ideas and date suggestions. Jesper probably already has banners designed. We will try to get this submitted in about a week.

Thanks for all your kind comments. Aeroscale is really a great site, because of all you wonderful participants.

I forgot this. I will be doing one of those beautiful Eduard 190s. Probably one with a black and white checkerd nose. But, come to think of it, I do have some really nice 1/32 snake decals.

Yes, I am on for being second in command

I suggest we follow the same dates as the Thunderbolt campaign. It could be really cool to have the campaigns running simultaneously.
I do not think it would be a time problem as Thunderbolts and FW 190s are not that complicated builds, unless you are building an Eduard Royal Class FW 190 with 4 PE sets as I am planning

I will cook up some banners when we get closer to the campaign. The box art from the Eduard sets would make excellent banners. I will take care of it

Nige, how do you feel about us using your timeframe?

Royal class? I am saving mine until I have learned to make models. The grandkids will probably end up selling it on ebay in about 30 years. Boxart from which Eduard Box? I love the A-8R2 boxart the best.

That is why there are two kits in the box.

Seriously, I really agree with you on this, Carl. Sometimes one can be afraid of starting a kit because it would be a pity if one ruins it. In the case of the Royal Class I solved this by buying two boxes, so I have actually 4 kits of the FW 190s with all the Royal Class goodies. (Got an unexpected pay out on some shares and went on a spending spree )

Hi Carl,
If it hadn't been for your twin spinners campaign my Do-17 from RS £25 would still be in box. I was loath to start it till I knew how to use resin PE etc. or even just glue and sandpaper and paint. But it turned out OK, not great but I still had fun building it.
And my 2 year old had great fun flying it around. God my heart lept /sank when I saw him with it. He didn't do it any damage, though I'm slightly perturbed by him wanting to bomb his teddies. It is now circling safely over his bed. If he turns out as a modeler I'll only have myself to blame.

One plane out of the royal class is only the cost of a round of beer in an Edinburgh pub during the festival. Go for it!
