First and foremost the paintwork is an issue. Metal flake paint simply doesn't scale, it just ruins the miniaturization. If you purchase one of these, by all means make sure to get a non-metallic finish.

The headlights and taillamps are superb, as are the wheels. Special attention paid to the marque and model badges seems to be worth the effort. The four rings are crisp and correctly places, moreover the 'R8' badge is perfectly rendered and legible (if only with a magnifying glass).

The finer plastic moulding around the front grille and rear vents, both louvred, is without flaw. Really impressive for a plastic model that would easily get lost in one's pocket.

The final point the eye lands on is the interior, which although very well moulded is dull. There is a total lack of colour detail which lets down the rest of the vehicle. One would think that the coupe makes do with the same interior, but it isn't really visible on a hard top car.
SUMMARY
Highs: Excellent Wheels. Convincing head and tail lamps. Markings are crisp and well placed.
Lows: Paint destroys illusion of scale. Interior is dull.
Verdict: A very faithful rendering of the subject in a very challenging scale, but make sure to purchase non-metallic coupes.
