U.S. Aircraft Weapon set
Zoukei-Mura's new 1:32 scale Douglas A-1H Skyraider kit (see review here) comes without external stores except for the fuel tanks. If you want to add bombs and rockets, you will have to buy this U.S. Aircraft Weapons set separately. It is composed of two sprue A and B which come each in four examples for a total of eight in the box.

The set comprises the following items molded in light grey plastic:

- AN-M66 2000 lb Bombs X4
- AN-M65 1000 lb Bombs X4
- M117 750 lb Bombs X4
- AN-M64 500 lb Bombs X8
- AN-M57 250 lb Bombs X12
- 5" HVAR Rockets X12
- LAU-3 2.75" Rocket Pods X4

The quality of the parts is good but the detail is heavy in some places. The little bomb fuse propellers could have been thinner for example and made as an extra part. Instructions are provided for construction but also for the placement of the decals. The latter are printed on a big decal sheet in yellow only.

Conclusion
Some think that a Skyraider without ordnance under the wings doesn't look right. If you are the same opinion this U.S. Aircraft Weapons set is what you need. It includes enough stuff to load two or three models. Remember, Zoukei-Mura provide two types of landing gear legs in their Skyraider kit so you can give it a heavy sit if you want. Though it would have been nicer to have the Weapon Set included in the basic kit, I think its price is reasonable and in the end, the choice is left to the modeler to purchase it, which is always a good thing.

Hi Jean-Luc, You consistently mention kgs for the armament weights, but actually they're lbs for the weights. Otherwise, they look really good. I'm sure trying to deal with Japanese or Chinese writing didn't help... Sorry, Tom

Hi Tom Ooops! I will ask someone to change that... I think it is more related to the fact that I'm French! No need to be. Thank you for the heads up! Jean-Luc
