The second release from PT Decals in 1/32 scale is a set of water slide decals for the L'armée de l'air / Aeronaval featuring aircraft used just after the end of WWII. Quite a mixture of indigenous and foreign aircraft including the NC.900, MS.500, SBD-5, F6F-5, P-39Q, D.520. The F6F-5 were used as late as 1954. The decals are based on the colour profiles drawn by Pierre Tilley for the French aviation magazine Aéro Journal.

A very welcome release for the enthusiast of L'armée de l'air / Aeronaval between 1945 and 1954.
The quality of the high definition silk screen printed decals are excellent [producedby Dutch Decal], with good colour density and registration. Included on the sheet are cocades for L'armée de l'air. The Aeronaval cocades are printed with the distinctive anchor motif. All cocades come in four sizes. Also included on the decal sheet are squadron codes, and badges. There are no stencils though, presumably the kit stencils should be utilised. Identifying the correct cocades on the decal sheet is a little confusing at first as the cocades on the left of the sheet are identified, but the one's on the right are not. If you look at the sheet closely you will realise that left and right sides are mirror images. With the Dewoitine D.520, the kit cocades must be used.
The information leaflet is nicely produced with colour art work and one black and white photo of the SNCAC NC-900. PT Decals only provide one side view of each aircraft. There is reference to the placement of decals on the other side of the aircraft. There are no upper or lower plan views to aid the placing of the cocades on the upper or lower wing surfaces, so you will have to find other references.
Incidentally if you buy your decals directly form the PT Decals website and you live in Europe, postage and packing is included in the price.

Conclusions.

This is a very welcome release from PT Decals particularly in this large scale. There are some very interesting aircraft included and the set is a great incentive to do something a little different. Hope PT Decals produce these decals in 1/48 and 1/72. Highly recommended. Now where can I find a 1/32 P-39Q and a Dewoitnee D.520?
