F-111A Exterior

Eduard have released a nicely detailed exterior etched set for the Hobby Boss 1:48 F-111A that came out not so long ago.
Packed in the now standard sealed bag, the contents contain one fret and a set of instructions.
The etch set is on one fret and contains around 80 parts. The fret is neither coloured or self adhesive.
None of the parts are overly tiny, and only a little bending is needed, so etch wise this is a easy set to work with.
Various parts of the airframe get updated with this fret.
The tail has quite a few new P.E static dischargers to replace the plastic ones that trail off the tail, tail plane and wings.
The nose undercarriage strut has two new brake lines added, as well as a couple of other small upgrades to detail this part. The nose undercarriage bay also gets the P.E treatment, with a steel plate to cover various panels, and several riveted plates for the sidewalls.
The main undercarriage strut has some edging parts to simulate riveted plates for the facings.
The major part of this fret is for the bomb bay.
The bomb bay gets steel plates, clamps and hydraulic lines added, which should really busy this part up. This probably all gets hidden if a full load of weapons is added though.
Instructions

The instructions are printed in a black and white line drawing and are well drawn and easy to follow, with the kit parts to be replaced or updated clearly marked. The instructions are easy to follow even if you have never attempted Photo etch before.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.

I started modelling in the 70's with my Dad building Airfix aircraft kits. The memory of my Dad and I building and painting a Avro Lancaster on the kitchen table will always be with me. I then found a friend who enjoyed building models, and between us I think we built the entire range of 1/72 Airfi...
