Jane's Tanks and Combat Vehicles Recognition Guide

by: Chuck Bush

Originally published on:
Armorama

This book contains technical data for over 200 modern tanks and combat vehicles. There are over 1000 photographs, most in color.

The Table of Contents list vehicles by types: Tanks, Tracked APCS/Weapons Carriers, 4X4 Vehicles, 6X6 Vehicles, 8X8 Vehicles, and Self-Propelled Guns. There is a Glossary at the back of the book.

Each entry has the following information:

Key Recognition Features Shape of hull, Number of road wheels, Type of weapons mounted, ect.

Specifications Everything from number of crew to Engine and NBC system.

Development A couple of paragraphs.

Variants

Status Production status and a list of countries using the vehicle.

Manufacturers

From 1 to 4 photos, and in some cases a line drawing round out the entry.

This is a nice general guide. I like being able to find where a vehicle serves. The photos are high quality, many showing the vehicle in the field.
