The figure
Toro Model's Mirella figure set is composed of eight light grey resin parts: four for the girl (one torso with head, two arms and legs) and four for the donkey (two parts for the animal and separate baskets). Casting is excellent with no air bubbles at all. There are no instructions provided in the kit but the photo on the box speaks for itself.

The girl is represented while pulling the rope of a not very co-operative donkey. I can imagine plenty of interesting situations that it is possible to recreate with such a figure. For example a group of soldiers, mechanics or pilots laughing while watching the poor girl struggling with the animal. But I guess installing the figure in a corner of a diorama to act as some kind of counter part for the main subject would be acceptable as well.

Conclusion
There are not many civilian figures in 1/48 scale so this one is very welcome. I hope it will sell well and Toro Model will be encouraged to produce more like that. I recommend it to every quarter scale diorama builder.

Hi jean-Luc nice review of the kit. Wish I had asked Wojciech for on of those, though my figure painting skills are very bad. I imagine a scene "Workhorses" with the paratroopers from YS Masterpieces and a Ju 52 (maybe crashlanded) .. here is a reveiw of the figures ... YS Fallschirmjäger the donkey looks suspiciously like the pegasus animal .... at least the ear could have been reposed. all the best Steffen

Great potential! I recall a photo of an Allied airfield around Naples of a local with a donkey bringing produce to sell to the soldiers. Anyone familiar with it? Anyway, I can see these two popping up in diormams all over!

That has nothing to do with Catch 22 does it?
