Wheelset

CMK has created three sets of replacement wheels for the A-4 Skyhawk in 1/72 scale. Andy looked at the wheel set 129-Q72314 intended for the Airfix kit, his review you can find here. This review looks at sets Q72 307 and Q72 308.

Q72 307 A-4 A/B Early: these have spoked hubs on the main wheels and are designed for the Fujimi 1/72 scale kit.
Q72 308 A-4C late: these wheels have plane hubs and are designed for the Fujimi and Hasegawa 1/72 scale kits

Both sets of wheels look well cast with no distortion and no bubbles. The detail around the hub and the tread of the tyres looks sharp and consistent. I have been a bit unfair blowing up the image so much, but they still look good. The attachment point to the casting blocks is pretty thin and easy enough to cut. The attachment point is on the sidewall so avoiding any damage to the tread detail. I was initially disappointed to see no weighting in the tyre, but looking at a few images the tyres on the Skyhawk, they do appear to be pumped up to a high pressure.

The hard to miss instructions printed on bright green paper simply illustrate that these resin wheels are direct replacements for the kit wheels.

Conclusion

This is a good looking product from CMK particularly if you are searching for a more authentic look to your Skyhawk
