OVERVIEW

RES-IM RESIN IMPROVEMENT is a Czech Republic based company. In 2011 they started with 3 sets. First was Radio Equipment for the Bf-109G, Cockpit for the L-13 Blaník, and Wheel Bays for the MiG-23 (currently their most popular set). Over the past 6 years they have steadily grown and now produce many resin, PE, and masks sets.

They have their own e-shop where 99% of products are in stock.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

My first impression of this kit was 'how on earth did they make the bolt-down tabs that small and still look realistic?' I don't know, but the clever people at RES-IM pulled it off. They also did a fantastic job on making the rear and center framework look acurate yet remain thin.

The guns are easily recognizable Browning 7.7mm and the ammo canisters and supply chambers look good as well. The wing covers appear to be a perfect match, but I'll find that out for certain in an upcoming build of this kit married to its Italeri Mk. I mate.

The items were shipped in a sturdy cardboard box and separated into two zip-lock bags then covered with the instructions.

If I could give RES-IM any advice it would be in this area. These instructions need "improvement". The black and white photo copied pictures are not very clear and some are totally washed out. In my opinion they should be much larger. A separate color photo of an actual Hurricane gun bay would be another thing they might consider.

IN CONCLUSION

Putting the poor instructions aside, RES-IM have created a really nice looking set of gun bays. With decent overall crispness and accuracy these will definitely be worth what you spend in adding more life to this iconic aircraft of WWII.

A big shout-out to Jim Starkweather for send me this kit to review and RES-IM for supplying the sample to AeroScale.

Thank you for reading and feel free to leave any comments or suggestions.
