Italeri are to release 1/72 versions of the Lockheed AC-130 Spectre gunship and the rather interestingly shaped H-21 'Flying Banana' helicopter. There are three marking options with the Spectre and four very colourful, verging on garish for the H-21. I cant wait to see the H-21.

If you are not aware of the excellent range of undercarriage release from SAC based in Texas, then they are well worth a look as they cover the popular scales from 1/144 to 1/24.

Its always a pleasure receiving Alley Cats newsletters. This time around Alley Cat is releasing a engine set for the Airfix Valiant including air inlets, two 1/48 Tucano releases and a particular favorite of mine the re release of decals for orange post war Hellcats, yes orange. I believe most of the aircraft took part in 'Operation Crossroads', the testing of nuclear weapons at Bikini Atoll by the United States in 1946. Finally lets not forget the decal set for the Fairey Gannet in 1/72.

Legato have announced the release of two separate 1/144 kits of the Yak-40. One boxing sees the little three engined Yak in civvies, the other boxing is for Yak’s in Uniform. The latter includes marking for an Angolan AF aircraft. Now you don’t find Angolan AF markings in a kit release very often.

Olimp Models recent 1/72 releases includes resin conversion set for Mirage 2000D operating over Afghanistan and Libya and a conversion set for a torpedo carrying MH-60R.
